Bledlow Rally Report

Bledlow Cricket Club Rally……. well, it’s late October but sunshine bathed the rally field over the weekend, so that was a great basis for a very pleasant and successful rally, run by Steve, Di and David.

17 vans (16 Chiltern, and one Visitor) attended. We had use of the refurbished clubhouse all weekend and this was put to great use. Friday evening was catch up time in the club and on Saturday morning we had a group walk through the fields and woods to Chinnor, where breakfasts and coffees were enjoyed by our band of happy ramblers. On the way back to the rally we were fortunate to see the steam locomotive in full flight at the crossing. Back in time for tea and cake in the club, followed by some relaxing in the late afternoon sun.

Saturday evening we were fully entertained by Sandy, a female vocalist who certainly got the dance floor full. The Cricket Club organised a quiz, which proved to be a challenge (certainly for the team I was in!) and there was a very good raffle run by our hosts.

Sunday morning and it was time for me to bore everyone with Chairman’s chat about the  rally programme for next year – which I think members thought was very promising – and to outline our new website and rally booking arrangements.

This was a really nice rally and several new friendships were created among those present. Many thanks to Steve, Di and David for hosting the rally and, of course, those who turned up for what we all agreed was a great weekend.
