Rally Report – Burford

On our arrival we were greeted by our hosts Shirley and Pete and pitched by Robin and Pete, as it was dark, on the tennis court. The hall was open on Friday evening for a catch up with old friends, tea and coffee was on offer all evening. 13 vans attended – all were Chiltern members. Had to get our thinking caps on for a general knowledge quiz.  Good choice of team –  Maggie and Ken – as we were winners and the prize of a mars bar was lovely. On Saturday there was  a “Walk around Burford” (treasure hunt).  We did find the first clue, with Paul’s help, then really sorry coffee and carrot cake took over – far more important!  We looked in a few shops, then back up the hill and walked to the garden centre. Back to the van for a bit of a rest and tea. Back into the hall in the evening where we had more chat and a music quiz – this time I’m sure Paul wished  he was on another team!  The raffle was then drawn.  It seems like  Pearl and myself have taken Bet’s place, winning quite a lot of the prizes. Sunday morning there was a quick early coffee and information passing – getting away before the wind and the rain came. Thank you Shirley and Pete for an enjoyable weekend.
