Rally Report – Fox and Duck

Fox & Duck, Stotfold.

The forecast was for a wet weekend but the weather gods deemed to shine on us.  Thursday saw the start of the rally with some nice weather and the early arrivals enjoyed an evening chat in the shelters hosted by Shirley & Pete Ingham.

Friday was a little damp but brought more arrivals late afternoon for the weekend.  Shirley and Pete arranged a little impromptu quiz as some folk had gathered in the shelters during the afternoon and a further couple of quizzes in the evening with prizes of chocolate.

Saturday dawned, sunshine and cloud with the threat of rain but nothing materialised.  A walk was arranged to the local Stotfold Mill and nature reserve where the mill was going to be working at intervals during the afternoon.  Some had visited the area in the previous rally so decided to frequent the local drinking establishment (also previously visited!).  Others enjoyed the Mill workings and a very fine cream tea!

Bet and Derek Gosling also popped along for a cuppa and a chat in the afternoon.

Saturday night another quiz enjoyed by all and a friendly chit chat until 10.00ish when we all went out to watch the space station move across the sky.

Sunday and time for coffee and goodbyes until the next time.

The rally field behind the pub was easily accessed and a decent sized field which more than accommodated the vans with enough room for the children to enjoy some games. We had visitors from Yorkshire and a total of 15 vans attended.
