At the 2018 AGM, a question from the floor was regarding rally costs – and the Rally Fee in particular. A show of hands indicated that some “price smoothing” would be welcome and that the Rally Fee was uncommon when attending other Groups rallies. Pricing is always going to be a difficult balance between giving our members good venues, entertainment, raffles etc while at the same time keeping the cost at a reasonable level.

So, we have decided to run a trial. We will not be using the usual £2 or (£3 where halls are hired) per person Rally Fee. We will try wherever possible to use a “Blanket Cost” of £12 per night, but hopefully you’ll realise that on the most expensive rallies our Group would not be able to sustain that rate.

Whilst it’s the case that on some of the cheaper rallies (those less than £12 per night) you’ll clearly be paying more, on other rallies you’ll be paying less than the venue charges us.

It’s swings and roundabouts, but you can rest assured that your Committee will monitor the situation and will make any changes necessary to ensure we bring you good value on rallies.
